Ingredients
Crust
16tbspButter (2 Sticks)- Softened
1cupSugar
½tbspVanilla Bean Extract- Our recommendation in "Notes"
1¾cupBread Flour
Filling
3ozCream Cheese- Softened
1Egg- Beaten
½tspVanilla Bean Extract- Recommendation in "Notes" section
2tbspSugar
3Apples- Peeled, cored, & sliced into thin slivers
1tbspFresh Lemon Juice
1tspGround Cinnamon
Whipped Cream & Nutmeg - Garnish, optional
Instructions
In a small bowl, cream butter and sugar; beat in vanilla. Stir in flour, mix with your hands till it forms into a ball. Press onto the bottom and 1 in. up the sides of a 12-in. tart pan coated with cooking spray; set aside.
For the filling, in a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, egg, and vanilla. Pour over crust. In a bowl, combine the apple, sugar, and cinnamon; arrange for overfilling.
Place pan on a baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 30-45 minutes or until apples are tender. Cool on a wire rack. Remove sides of the pan. Garnish with whipped cream and nutmeg if desired. Refrigerate leftovers!
