- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Preheat oven to 375°F and prepare your baking sheet with parchment paper.
Grab a medium/large mixing bowl add in all-purpose flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Whisk or stir to combine.
Grab a separate large mixing bowl and add in softened sticks of butter and granulated sugar. Cream together using a handheld mixer or stand mixer. This should take around 2 minutes.
Next, beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined. Carefully pour the dry flour mixture (from Step #2) into this wet mixture. Mix until just combined.
Add the milk and mix until the cookie dough is smooth. Carefully fold in the patriotic sprinkles (recommend with a spatula) and do not overmix to protect colors from bleeding.
Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough and place them onto the prepared baking sheet. Avoid my mistake (see video above) and ensure the dough balls are at least 2″ apart.
Bake in the preheated oven at 375°F for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, you know the routine
Carefully remove the baking sheets from the oven and allow the cookies to cool for at least 5 minutes.
