- 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk - 14 oz.
Preheat your oven to 425℉
Use a can opener to carefully open the can of sweetened condensed milk. Pour the can into an oven-safe bowl and cover with aluminum foil.
Place the covered bowl into a larger baking pan and begin filling the pan with water. Keep adding water until the water level is approximately halfway up the side of the bowl.
Place the pan in the preheated oven and heat for 1 to 1.5 hours. Check every 30 minutes to verify the water level hasn’t dropped significantly. Add more water if necessary.
Once the dulce de leche has reached a brown color (similar to caramel), carefully remove the pan from the oven.
Whisk or stir the dulce de leche until it reaches a smooth consistency. Let it cool for ~ 10 minutes, then it will be ready to enjoy!
