Equipment

  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Can Opener
  • 1 Oven-safe bowl
  • 1 Baking Pan
  • 1 Whisk
  • Aluminum Foil

Ingredients

  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk - 14 oz.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425℉
  • Use a can opener to carefully open the can of sweetened condensed milk. Pour the can into an oven-safe bowl and cover with aluminum foil.
  • Place the covered bowl into a larger baking pan and begin filling the pan with water. Keep adding water until the water level is approximately halfway up the side of the bowl.
  • Place the pan in the preheated oven and heat for 1 to 1.5 hours. Check every 30 minutes to verify the water level hasn’t dropped significantly. Add more water if necessary.
  • Once the dulce de leche has reached a brown color (similar to caramel), carefully remove the pan from the oven.
  • Whisk or stir the dulce de leche until it reaches a smooth consistency. Let it cool for ~ 10 minutes, then it will be ready to enjoy!
