We have a passion for baking and know how important of a role All Purpose Flour plays in creating premium baking products and other quality food items.  We took the time to ensure that the flour we offer is worthy of our Lone Goose Bakery name.  It is very versatile and can be used to make bread (including sourdough), rolls, and pizza crust.  It also makes delicious cookies, brownies and other baked goods.  Our Organic All Purpose Flour is very nutritious and is packed with protein, fiber and other minerals. We are excited to introduce it for you to try in your next recipe!

We continue to be focused on offering you healthy and nutritious products that we are proud to use to feed our own families.  Our Lone Goose Bakery All Purpose Flour is Certified Organic, Unbleached, and Non-GMO.  There are several key benefits to using our flour:

  1. Certified Organic – Free of artificial compounds and grown without chemicals like pesticides
  2. Non GMO – Made with natural wheat instead of cheap frankenwheat
  3. Unbleached – Naturally aged to maintain complex flavor profile, unique texture, and nutrients
  4. Red Winter Wheat – High protein & fiber content, in addition to nutrients like manganese & selenium.  Low cholesterol and saturated fat.

Our All Purpose Flour is Organic

We are proud that this flour is certified organic.  This makes it very easy for you to know exactly what this flour is made from.  It is beneficial to utilize certified organic flour because it is delicious and nutritious just as nature intended.  Our flour does not contain artificial compounds that alter the flavor and strip away nutrients.  Conventional wheat is grown with chemical fertilizers and pesticides to increase yield, but this alters the grain and severely impacts the environment.  Our organic wheat grows more slowly and deliberately, naturally absorbing minerals and nutrients from the soil.  This growing process creates the grain’s rich flavors that are passed to our organic flour.

Our All Purpose Flour is Non GMO

This flour utilizes wheat that is not genetically modified.  This verifies that the grains come from a natural plant and not a genetically modified organism created in a lab somewhere.  What you put in your body matters, which is why we selected Non GMO wheat for our flour.

Our All Purpose Flour is Unbleached

Many brands sell bleached flour because it is cheaper and easier.  They hope you won’t notice and purchase the bleached flour anyway.  Bleached flour is processed differently, and it often begins with refining the wheat.  The wheat grain for bleached flour goes through this refining process which removes nutritious parts of the wheat grain prior to grinding.  This eliminates natural vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.  Both bleached and unbleached flour go through the milling process to grind the wheat into fine particles.

The next step for bleached flour is to apply chemicals like peroxides, chlorine, or azodicarbonamide. The EU bans the use of many of these chemicals and some countries ban bleached flour altogether.  Applying these bleaching chemicals alters the flour’s nutrition, appearance, texture and flavor.  It also reduces the aging process that is required to improve the flour.

Our unbleached flour naturally retains the wheat’s nutrition and delicious flavor profile.  It requires a longer aging process to allow it to develop and improve, but this patience is rewarded.

Our All Purpose Flour is made with Red Winter Wheat

We have chosen to use Red Winter Wheat (RWW) for our All Purpose Flour.  The RWW has a high protein content, which is often associated with higher gluten content.  Since gluten serves as the natural binding agent, this wheat is great for use in all purpose flours.  Many quality baking companies select RWW because it has a richer and more complex flavor.

Gluten Allergies & Sensitivities

This type of flour does naturally contain gluten which helps it bind and allows it to be very versatile.  If you have celiac disease, are sensitive to gluten, or you have a gluten allergy, you should avoid this All Purpose Flour.  We have many gluten-free options that we have launched to help our Lone Goose Bakery Community create delicious baked goods without gluten.  A majority of the flour products we offer are gluten free.

Gluten free is more than a marketing phrase for us, it’s a matter of supporting your health!
