A Discussion about Blue Bird Poppy Seeds

I’ve decided to write a brief post describing some basics about one of our most popular products, our Blue Bird Poppy Seeds™. Many of you, our dedicated customers, will wonder why I am writing this post. This is a response to frequently asked email questions and misinformation being spread by others online. I have been shocked by the sheer volume of misleading info, whether motivated by ignorance or malice, so I’ve decided to combat it. Unfortunately, a significant portion of the inaccurate info was purposefully spread, and we even discovered other seed companies (competitors) among the sources. We want to clear up inaccurate info to ensure all of our customers, including new and potential shoppers, are armed with the correct details.

Country of Origin | England
Our poppy seeds are harvested from farms located in England. We have chosen seeds from England because the quality and taste are excellent. The unique flavor profile and aroma have propelled England to the top spot for quality seeds. We have also found that English seeds are more consistent than in other countries. All crops and natural products have slight variations in taste, appearance, etc. because they are impacted by Mother Nature. We do our best to minimize these variations and supply the best possible seeds.
Identifying the Best Poppy Seeds
We are constantly monitoring and studying different seed & nut sources to identify the best products on the market. The poppy seed market is unique, and it takes a considerable amount of time and effort to stay current. This hard work pays off and helps us discover excellent sources. As stated above, our poppy seeds are harvested in England and shipped to the United States. The seeds arrive at our warehouse in a similar manner to many of our other products. The large seed bags weigh over 1,000 lbs and are transported on pallets. We have included some pictures of these large containers at our warehouse above & below.
Quality Control
Once the poppy seeds arrive at our warehouse, they still must earn the Blue Bird name. Multiple team members check each batch to make sure that the quality, appearance, and flavor of the seeds make them worthy to be sold on our site. Seeds that do not meet our specifications are disposed of appropriately. This rigorous process helps ensure that Blue Bird Poppy Seeds™ maintain their position at the top. We’ve also mastered the art of properly storing poppy seeds to ensure their flavor remains delicious and nutty!
The Price of Blue Bird Seeds
We are aware that Blue Bird Poppy Seeds™ are not the cheapest brand available. Our focus is not on providing the cheapest seeds like a majority of other brands. We DO focus on providing the highest quality product at a reasonable price. The quality of our Blue Bird Poppy Seeds™ is worth the price point, and we consistently receive positive feedback stating they are a great value. As a result, the price of our seeds is reasonable considering the quality. We are fortunate that our Lone Goose Bakery community tends to appreciate quality.

I have been a regular customer for over 2 years. I am very satisfied with the quality of the poppy seeds! My only issue is that shipping can be iffy. Several orders have been lost. However, lone goose has always remedied the issue asap! I won’t shop anywhere else.

As a customer for a year this July 19 2019 I am very pleased with everyone and everything that I purchased from Lone Goose Bakery and looking to continue being a customer. I’ve read your post that people are spreading hateful comments about Lone Goose Bakery. Being the number 1 company in selling poppy seeds the want a be’s would say anything to hurt your reputation but, I know and everyone else know’s why your number 1. First if I owned a company I would hire your manager he goes above and beyond to make it’s customer satisfied with every order. Second the product is outstanding with order I placed. Third I tried every other co. and all was a waste of money. Thanks for everything you do and just keep what your doing to stay at #1

You are most certainly preaching to the choir here as most of us already know the high quality of your Poppyseeds. I can’t help but wonder if the misinformation that’s being purposely spread is some folks idea of hoarding your seeds for themselves . In hopes that people will not buy them therefore leaving more product for them to buy and your company never running short of seeds . It’s the only excuse that I can come up with cause any of us loyal Blue Bird customers already know the high quality of product we purchase from you is well worth the reasonable price we pay. I know I can speak for most of us in saying we appreciate your consistent quality control and will continue to be loyal returning patrons to the Lone Goose bakery .
