It’s the holiday season in between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I have been on a roll creating several different holiday latte and espresso creations. The most recent Chestnut Praline Latte Recipe has been a big hit, and so I’ve decided to continue down this path by creating another Christmas latte recipe. This time, it’s for the epitome of Christmas in caffeinated beverage form, the famous Gingerbread Latte!

I include recipes for a Hot Gingerbread Latte and Iced Gingerbread Latte below!

Gingerbread Latte Flavor

gingerbread men and women in snow with taste and flavor written

This recipe really does taste like a gingerbread cookie in a cup! The rich & robust flavor of the espresso combines perfectly with the sweet festive notes of gingerbread. The molasses and maple syrup add in a depth and caramel depth and sweetness. The ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves play together to create the ultimate Christmas flavor.

Topping with the optional whipped cream and gingerbread crumbs adds the final touch to this delightful holiday drink.

milk for gingerbread latte
  1. Prepare the gingerbread syrup by taking a small saucepan and adding in the molasses, maple syrup, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and ground cloves. Heat on your stovetop over medium heat, constantly stirring until the mixture is properly combined and slightly thickened. This should take approximately 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat, stir in the vanilla extract, and then set aside.
  3. In a separate small saucepan, heat the milk (or non dairy alternative) over medium heat until it is hot but not boiling. If you have a milk frother, use that to froth the milk instead. Froth until it is creamy and foamy.
  4. Brew the double shot of espresso (or strong 1/2 cup of coffee)
  5. Grab your chosen mug. Add in the gingerbread syrup mixture, then the double shot of espresso.
  6. Pour the steamed/frothed milk over the espresso & syrup mixture. Stir to combine.
  7. Add the optional whipped cream, then sprinkle the optional gingerbread cookie crumbs on top for a fun festive touch.
  8. Enjoy your Gingerbread Latte!

    5 stars
The syrup is good enough to stand alone, just make it bigger
