I went from not knowing anything about chestnut praline to having it as one of the staples of my holiday coffee rotation. Now it’s your turn to learn how to make this delicious recipe!
Chestnut Praline Flavor
I was surprised by the taste of the chestnut praline, so it can be helpful to describe how it tastes before you get started. The surprisingly smooth nutty flavor of the chestnuts combines harmoniously with the sweetness of the granulated sugar. The brown sugar adds a depth with the rich caramel undertone. The chopped pecans build nicely upon the nuttiness of the chestnuts, but it is not bitter at all. Last, but not least, the vanilla extract caps everything off with its unique taste, plus it adds that wonderful smell.

Chestnut Praline Latte Recipe
This recipe makes roughly 2 cups of chestnut praline syrup, which is enough to make today’s latte and 15 more. That calculation is based on using 2 tbsp of syrup for each latte, which is the most common, but some that prefer sweeter lattes may use 3 tbsp.
Syrup Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups Water
- ¾ cup Brown Sugar
- ¾ cup Granulated Sugar
- 8-9 Peeled Chestnuts*
- ½ cup Chopped Pecans
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract (check out our premium vanilla extract)
Chopped pecans are very easy to find. You can purchase them from any grocery store, usually near the produce section. I had a bit of a harder time finding chestnuts. Even during the holiday season, our local grocers did not have chestnuts. I found a 3 oz bag of peeled chestnuts on Amazon, and it held the perfect amount of chestnuts. If you have any ideas for finding chestnuts locally, feel free to leave in the comments section at the bottom of this page.
