Cinnamon Dolce Latte

Hello Blue Birds! If you’re wondering how to make a cinnamon dolce latte, you’ve come to the right place! I recently created a fun recipe post for cinnamon dolce syrup. I’ve had many readers reach out asking for more details on using the syrup to make a latte, so I decided to create this post. Both this latte and the Cinnamon Dolce Latte are recipes that fit in nicely for the holidays.

This recipe is great for those chilly morning when you are racing against the clock. It makes enough syrup for 15+ lattes, and the syrup can be stored in the fridge for multiple weeks. Once you follow this recipe 1-2 times, you should have it memorized. It is that simple.

Cinnamon Dolce Flavor

This is me a non-culinary expert writing this, so take it with a grain of salt. The immediate flavor is the warm taste of cinnamon with the gentle sweetness of the syrup. The espresso adds a rich and bold undertone, and it gives the latte that slightly bitter “kick” to help power you through your busy day. You can finish it off with the sweet whipped cream and dash of ground cinnamon for some extra flavor. That all depends on personal preference. Bottom line, the flavor of this Cinnamon Dolce Latte is perfect for cooler weather, just like our Homemade Pumpkin Latte Recipe. This cinnamon recipe can adapt to your busy life!

Cinnamon Dolce Latte | Full Recipe Video

As you may already know, I create videos for most all of our recipe posts. This takes a lot more time on my part, but it gives me the experience necessary to provide helpful tips and tricks to make the perfect latte. You will also be able to pick up on visual details that are not available when reading the written portion of the recipe below.

You may not always have time to watch the full recipe video, and that is fine. This video is only 5 min long, and you can always come back and watch it again later. I suggest our readers (if possible) watch the video around the time they follow the written recipe, that way they get the best of both worlds. Enough typing, let’s get started!

If you’ve finished watching this video and you’re looking for another fun recipe, check out our Fall Pumpkin Spice Syrup Recipe. It fits great into the same time of year as the Cinnamon Dolce Latte, and it is one of our community favorites.

Adding cinnamon dolce syrup to latte

I decided to split the ingredients section into 2 separate parts, since some of you have already made our Cinnamon Dolce Syrup. For those of you that haven’t, I have listed those required ingredients first. As stated above, the syrup portion makes roughly 2 cups of cinnamon dolce syrup. That is equivalent to 32 tablespoons, which can make 16 total Cinnamon Dolce Lattes. If you need more syrup than that, you can multiply the ingredients accordingly.

  • 1 cup (8 oz) Milk*

Instructions

  1. Select a medium saucepan and add in water, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until the sugar is dissolved into water. Note: It is not time to heat the saucepan at this point.
  2. Add in the ground cinnamon and the 2 cinnamon sticks to the saucepan. Stir and mix the cinnamon in with the other ingredients.
  3. Slowly turn your stovetop onto medium heat. Bring the mixture to a low boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Make sure to stir the mixture often to keep the flavors mixing and heating evenly. The syrup will begin to thicken slightly over time.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and add in the vanilla extract. The mixture is now officially syrup.
  5. Allow the syrup to cool for 5 minutes. Now we can start making the actual latte
  6. Brew two shots of espresso and pour into your Chosen Mug
  7. Add 2-3 tbsp of cinnamon dolce syrup to you Chosen Mug. You can store the extra syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 weeks.
  8. Steam 1 cup (8 oz) of milk or non-dairy alternative by using steamer/frother or heat in small saucepan until it’s steaming.
  9. Pour steamed/frothed milk into your Chosen Mug, and mix/stir everything together.
  10. Add optional whipped cream and sprinkle ground cinnamon over the top if desired.

Follow the tip and leave the cinnamon sticks in the syrup, releasing more cinnamon over time

If you don’t have cinnamon sticks (I didn’t and the stores were closed), double ground cinnamon to 2 tsp. Mine still had that distinctive cinnamon dolce flavor
