Homemade Chocolate Chip Flax Granola Bars
After finishing our recipe for Dairy Free & Eggless Muffins, I felt it would be a good to have a SNACK TIME, so I pulled out this recipe. This granola bar recipe is very easy to make. I am far from a granola bar expert, and it was quick and easy for me. These bars contain ground flax and chia seeds. The flax contains nutrients like fiber and omega 3, and chia also contains fiber and antioxidants. Both of these ingredients were added because of their nutrition and they make this recipe more filling. This makes a great snack option for the whole family, including kids!

- In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, flax seeds, chia seeds, chocolate chips and salt.

This recipe is solid, and watching the video makes it even easier to follow. I’ve actually memorized now. I love these bars. Oh and I guess it’s a bit important that my kids like it too
Jordan, I love hearing about all of you using our recipes. Glad you (and your kids) liked the granola bars!
I’ve made this recipe several times, and it is a big part of our weekday snack options. Thanks Lone Goose
This is also a “go-to” in our house for a healthy afternoon snack. Thanks for the comment, Morgan
Tasted great with round 1, but quick question… can you substitute honey for maple syrup 1:1?
Sarah – Thanks for the feedback and the question. You can substitute honey. I haven’t done it specifically for this recipe, but I have used it with other granola recipes and it worked out well. Have a great day!
The video is helpful. I know it’s listed above, but don’t forget to press hard on the granola before baking. My husband was in a hurry and the bars weren’t holding together the first time through. Big surprise
The 2nd time, much better. Kiddos hearted it
Good tip, Kristina. Thanks for the comment!
I haven’t bought products here before, but this recipe is now a staple of our post lunch diet. The chocolate chips are an important factor. Excited to try the cranberry one next, will leave another review for those later
